how we ended up here

We first met back in March 2015 on a college spring break trip to Lake Havasu, AZ. We spent the whole weekend together but then went our separate ways, back to our separate schools, and barely talked again… until 3 and half years later when we both coincidentally ended up moving to Newport Beach, CA at the same time in August 2018.

We started to text as we were both looking for new friends to hang out with. Naturally, we started spending basically all of our time together instead. After a few official dates, Colin had to move to Wisconsin for a mandatory six-month work training. Talk about bad timing. We figured that would probably be the end of it but then Colin decided to fly Casandra out to Wisconsin for a weekend to let her know he was still interested. That weekend led to daily facetimes and pretty soon, the long distance was over and we were back in the same city again.

We made things official and dated for about a year before convincing ourselves things were “too good to be true” and, for reasons that still don’t fully make sense, decided to break up. A couple speed bumps, pandemics, and reality shows later (oops), we realized life was a lot less fun apart and maybe everyone else was tired of hearing, “it’s complicated.”

So we decided to grow up and do this thing for real.

Four years later, here we are. We’ve been living together in Pacific Beach in San Diego and have loved every second of it. Between weekly beach walks, Friday night Padres games, Sunday football Buffalo Bills emotional rollercoasters, golf lessons (courtesy of Colin), Spanish lessons (courtesy of Casandra), countless travels, Bad Bunny concerts, and lots of time with family and friends, there’s been no shortage of memories.

More than anything, we’ve learned that even the most ordinary days are fun when we’re together.

That feeling carried all the way to Lodi, CA on December 23, 2025, where Colin proposed in front of Casandra’s family, followed by a surprise engagement party. After attending 31 weddings together, we can’t wait for our turn and to celebrate it with all the people who have been part of our journey!

WHERE TO STAY

Due to the many great accommodation options throughout the desert, we have chosen not to reserve a hotel room block. We hope this allows guests the flexibility to choose accommodations that best fit their preferences, travel plans, and budget. Please let us know if you need any further accommodation suggestions or assistance.

Airbnb

If you’re traveling in groups, we highly recommend booking an Airbnb or vacation rental. There are plenty of beautiful options throughout La Quinta, Palm Desert, and Palm Springs, making it a fun and convenient way to stay together for the weekend. This can often be a more cost-effective option, especially when splitting the cost of a larger home among a group.
